NSW: Search continues for man missing in lake

SYDNEY, Dec 26 AAP - A search is in progress for a man who disappeared after a boat
carrying three people capsized on a lake in southern NSW, police say.

The mishap occurred on Lake Hume near Albury on Friday and all the people involved
lived in the area nearby.

"Two men and a boy were on a motor boat about 8.15pm (AEDT) when the boat capsized
about 200m offshore," police said in a statement.

"The eight-year-old boy managed to swim to shore and raise the alarm, while a 26-year-old
man clung to a tree stump until rescued by a local resident.

"A 34-year-old man has not been seen since."

The older man, who was piloting the boat, was breath tested and returned a negative reading.

A search began for the missing man but was called off about 9.30pm (AEDT).

On Saturday morning police and volunteers from rescue agencies continued the search for the man.
