Qld: Pet names reflect kids' names
A company that inscribes pet tags reckons Australians are giving pets the same kind
of names there giving their kids.
Managing director of Bow Wow Meow ... AMY LYNDON ... says this is because we're treating
our pets like children.
She says in 1995 we were likely to give our dogs names like ROVER and PATCH ... and
call our cats PUSS or SMOKEY.
But today we're choosing monikers like BELLA .. MOLLY .. MAX and JACK ... which also
feature among the top names for babies.
The names of famous couples are also popular for pets .. such as OSCAR and LUCINDA
.. FRED and WILMA and ROMEO and JULIET.
