NSW: Child found safe in abandoned, stolen car
A police search for a stolen car with a toddler has ended with relief when she wasfound sleeping peacefully in the abandoned vehicle near Wollongong today.
A 62-year-old woman left her three-and-a-half-year-old granddaughter in a child seatof the Toyota Echo as she opened a garage door at Cardiff.
Police say a man took the car, with the girl still inside, and drove off.
The stolen car was found 15 minutes later in the drive-way of an unrelated premisesin Cardiff, but the thief remains at large.
