Vic: Telstra could be crippled over Christmas, New Year: union
A union has warned Telstra's failure to negotiate over Christmas and New Year pay rates
could cripple phone services.
But the communications giant says it has spoken to the majority of workers rostered
on over the period and no one is unhappy with individual offers.
The Commercial Electrical and Plumbing Union says Telstra is refusing to negotiate
over the Christmas and New Year pay demand.
CEPU Victorian secretary of the telecommunication and services branch, LEN COOPER says
Telstra is trying to make private arrangements with some staff.
The union, which represents 50,000 Telstra workers, says the bonus being offered indiviudally
was rumoured to be about $500.
